After studying economics at Columbia University, Matthew planned on a career on Wall Street but became interested in acting from his experience as a model.
The public discovered Matthew in the television series Party of Five, which received a Golden Globe for Best Dramatic Series in 1996, but his career really took off with LOST. Matthew plays the lead role of ‘Jack’ for which he was nominated in 2006 for a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series. LOST won multiple Emmy Awards in 2005, and the entire cast received the Screen Actors Guild Ensemble Award in 2006.
Matthew recently starred in the Warner Bros. feature, We Are Marshall, directed by McG, and in February 2008, he’ll be seen again in the international thriller Vantage Point, for Sony, in which he stars opposite Dennis Quaid and Forest Whitaker.
Matthew Fox is currently filming Speed Racer, a film based on the classic Japanese manga. Larry and Andy Wachowski are directing this Warner Bros. feature. It will be released in May 2008.
